Montessori or Waldorf animals?

I want to get some animals for T., but I can't decide whether to take real-life looking Schleich animals or handcrafted wooden? I guess for now Schleich would be better but later, for imaginative play, would be better wooden, or get both? What would you take? (comments will be highly appreciated ;)

  1. Such a difficult question! :D
I think - don't stress about the theories (Montessori or Waldorf), and get the ones you think are cuter. (The second pic, I think, they are cute..)
I overally think that Waldorf is exaggerated with the "imaginative play", that everything doesn't have to always be so abstract. His imagination still will develop perfectly, just if given time and space (not interrupting, destracting him, no TV and youtube etc).
I maybe more agree in Montessori.. that it's good to give animals that look like ones in real life. :)

  2. Don't worry about different schools of thinking get whichever you like better! For me and that's just my opinion the wooden ones are better because of the material. Wood is nice to touch, it's natural and I just laways prefer it over the plastic, plus and that's one big plus for me they remind me the animals I used to have as a kid!! Btw where did you find htem?

  4. I like more those handcrafted wooden, but i noticed Jonas likes to play more with those animals, that look like real, those he can compare with books and pictures...
