Froddo shoes review

I was not that much surprised to find out this spring that Teodor has outgrown his almost unworn Filii shoes from last autumn. I've heard so much praise about Froddos that I decided to give them a try. I got barefoot-friendly Froddo Soft Sole for Teodor and Froddo Prewalkers for Anastasia as she was about to start walking. Teodor started wearing his at the beginning of April, Anastasia in May because spring took its time before its arrival this year.

Froddo Soft Sole

I really wanted to try these as everyone was praising them, another reason was that unlike pure barefoot shoes, these have stiffer heelcap, which might be helpful for T. and not less important they were about 20 euros cheaper than Filii. After we exchanged blue laces for green (they were in the box), all was good and he agreed to put them on. He loves them since.
They are considered bf-friendly because of their toe shape, though it it is very wide and ok for Teodor's foot shape. Also the sole is too thick for matching barefoot criteria. It was a bit stiff at the beginning but now it is almost barefoot soft.

They have a practical "check the fit" insole - some Czechs say it is not precise, I would say it matches.

Even though I am very happy with Froddo, I still would like to get him green (everything has to have at least a bit of green or some of his favourite animals in order for him to be willing to wear it) Filii while in Czech as I believe children benefit the most out of barefoot shoes.

Froddo Prewalkers

I heard so much about Prewalkers in Czech barefoot group, most loved it, some complained they got destroyed too fast. They hold better than I expected. The way they are sewn makes them destined for not lasting super long, but the price tag is fine for that.

They are perfect for normal/narrower feet with normal/lower instep. For those who have higher instep and want the same type of slippers (rubber sole), I recommend Move by Melton, they were super big for A. The variety of colours is stunning (they often look much better in reality than in the pictures), we went with yellow because I like our kids wearing colourful clothes. Didn't occur to me that light shoes get dirty and it is not possible to clean them properly.

They are super flexible as the first shoes should be. They even survived a little puddle because she has a radar for water both inside and outside.

Both shoes are very well-made from quality leather, that's why we try to sell only European made products - all European made shoes I've tried had outstanding craftsmanship qualities in contrast to Livie and Luca, which was a "disaster" when it comes to stitching and glue.

In order to keep our shoes in usable condition, I use Collonil Nilfett (it is a mixture of natural oils)on regular basis. Both kids love polishing their shoes on Sundays :) A few days after her first polishing experience, A. got some cream from pastry on her finger, it probably reminded her of the shoe cream, so she started applying it on her shoe. It definitely makes the shoe more dirt and scratch protected. Also keeps the shoes soft and hydrated.
